Costco Is Ending This Service — and Offering a New Discount Instead

If you want to use the Costco Photo Center, you better act fast.

Costco is closing down its online photo service. Jan. 27 is the last day to order through the Costco Photo Center.

Once the Costco Photo Center has been shuttered, Costco will roll out a new discount: Members of the warehouse will qualify for 51% off all regular-priced orders from Shutterfly. Members also get free shipping on all Shutterfly orders of more than $49.

If you currently have photos on CostcoPhotoCenter.com, you can opt in to Shutterfly and all your account information — including your address book and photos — will be transferred over.

If you don’t want to opt in to Shutterfly, Costco notes that its members also can download their photos from the Costco Photo Center directly to their home computer.

Things are a bit different if you have My Saved projects. According to Costco:

“Projects saved on CostcoPhotoCenter.com will not be available at Shutterfly. If you’ve started a project at CostcoPhotoCenter.com or would like extra copies of earlier projects, your order must be placed prior to this January 28th, 2023. These projects include:

  • Photo Books
  • Calendars
  • Greeting Cards
  • Collage Prints”

Costco says two other services — CostcoBusinessPrinting.com or CostcoDVD.com — also will cease to exist after Jan. 27.
